Maternal Mental Health

A counsellor and a lactation specialist, trained for this exact season.

Perinatal-trained counsellors and clinical psychologists on standby — and IBCLC-trained lactation specialists after birth — for the anxieties, the sleeplessness, the feeding worries and the tender interior of pregnancy.

Why it matters

One in five women experience clinically significant anxiety or depression during pregnancy or the first year postpartum. Most go unscreened and untreated. Wombly makes screening routine and support unremarkable.

The science, in plain language

What the evidence says.

01

Perinatal mood disorders are common — and treatable.

Antenatal depression affects ~15% of pregnancies and postpartum depression ~13%; both respond well to short-course cognitive behavioural therapy (WHO, 2022).

02

Structured screening finds the missed cases.

Routine use of the EPDS (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) increases detection of postpartum depression by more than 2× compared with clinical impression alone (Lancet Psychiatry, 2019).

How it works

A quiet, structured pathway.

    Screening

Structured EPDS and GAD-7 assessments at defined milestones.

    Matched care

A perinatal-trained counsellor or clinical psychologist is matched to you.

  3. 03
